Returns & Refunds

Pieces should be lived with, not second-guessed. If something is not right, you have thirty days to send it back — and EU consumers keep their statutory rights in full.

Overview

We want you to be entirely at ease with every piece. For that reason, all customers may return eligible items within 30 days of delivery for a refund, regardless of where in the world you are.

If you are a consumer resident in the European Union, you additionally hold the statutory 14-day right of withdrawal. This legal right is unaffected by, and runs alongside, our voluntary 30-day policy — whichever is more favourable to you applies. The withdrawal right is set out in full in our Terms & Conditions.

Conditions for a return

To be accepted for a refund, a returned piece must be:

  • unworn and in unused, as-new condition;
  • undamaged, unaltered and free of signs of wear;
  • complete with its original packaging, pouch, box and any tags or certificates;
  • accompanied by proof of purchase (your order number is sufficient).

Please handle pieces with the same care you would expect of us. Items returned soiled, scratched or showing handling beyond what is needed to assess them may have their refund reduced to reflect the diminished value.

Exceptions for hygiene & personalisation

For hygiene reasons, pierced earrings may be non-returnable once their sealed packaging has been opened, unless they are faulty. This does not affect your statutory rights where the item is defective.

Engraved, personalised or made-to-order pieces would ordinarily be excluded from return, as they are produced to your specification. At present we do not offer any engraving or personalisation, so this exception is informational only; should we introduce it, it will be flagged clearly at the point of order.

How to start a return

Email us at service@atelierkirk.com with your order number and the item(s) you wish to return. We will reply with simple return instructions and the return address.

Please wait for our confirmation before sending anything back, so we can register your return and ensure it reaches us safely.

Return shipping

For change-of-mind returns, you cover the cost of return postage. We recommend a tracked, insured service, as items remain your responsibility until they reach us.

If a piece is faulty, damaged in transit or sent in error, we cover the full cost of return — we will provide a prepaid label or reimburse your reasonable postage.

Refunds

Once your return arrives, we inspect it and confirm receipt by email. Approved refunds are issued to your original payment method.

We process refunds within 14 days of receiving the returned goods — usually sooner. The time for the funds to appear on your statement then depends on your bank or card provider.

Exchanges

The simplest way to exchange a piece — for a different size, length or design — is to return the original for a refund and place a new order. If you would like help choosing a size or alternative, write to us at service@atelierkirk.com and we will gladly advise.

Faulty, damaged or incorrect items

If your order arrives faulty, damaged or incorrect, please contact us at service@atelierkirk.com within a reasonable time of delivery, ideally with a photograph. We will arrange a repair, replacement or full refund, including all shipping costs, at no charge to you.

Every piece is backed by our lifetime material guarantee: we stand behind the metals and stones we use against defects in materials for the life of the piece. This guarantee covers genuine material faults and does not extend to ordinary wear, accidental damage, loss or theft. Your statutory consumer rights are unaffected.
